Create Your Own DIY Country Western Singer Costume
I have always found it to be more fun to create my own unique Halloween costume with things I have laying around the house or by finding unique items at thrift stores rather than buying a manufactured costume, although I usually do end up buying an item or two to fully complete my ensemble.
I noticed that there was a shortage of costume ideas for those who love the country music genre, so I decided to put some ideas together for some great DIY Halloween costumes for some recognizable county singers.
Since I didn't want to discriminate, you will find costume ideas for both men and women.
Most items for these costumes can likely be found at the back of your own closet, the closet of a friend or family member, or at a thrift store. If you do need just one extra item to make your costume perfect, you can purchase them from Amazon or a Halloween supply store.
Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

Dolly Parton would make a fun Halloween costume because she has such a signature style. Like many of us, she has also had her fair share of hairstyles and wardrobes throughout the years to choose from as well!
To complete your Dolly Parton costume, all you really need to keep in mind is what Dolly is known for: her big blonde hairdo; loud, Western-themed outfits; and a big chest! Throw on a pair of cowboy boots and some bright pink or red lipstick to add extra flair.
Items you will need to complete your Dolly Parton costume:

3. Reba McEntire
Reba McEntire's defining feature that makes her unique and stand out is her beautiful red hair. Reba makes for a great costume since she has had MANY various hairstyles throughout the years. My personal favorite was her big '90s hair, and I think that would make the best costume. However, you have so many different styles to choose from; just pick your favorite!
The most important accessory for your Reba costume is the hair. If you are already blessed with red hair, all you have to do is style your hair. Back in the day, Reba was a fan of fitted fringe jackets and shoulder pads. Go to a thrift store, pull out some old clothes, or raid someone's closet!
Things you will need for your Reba McEntire costume:
- Red wig
- Western clothes fitting the '80s, '90s, or present, depending on your preference
- Cowboy boots
- Maybe a fake microphone to add extra flair
4. Shania Twain
Shania Twain has had a few different looks and styles throughout the years and also in her music videos. I think people would most recognize your costume if you were to go for her '90s look: a midriff-baring shirt, tight jeans, and shorten any collared shirt and tie above your waist. Of course, don't forget the cowboy boots and mussed long brown hair!
Items you will need to complete your Shania Twain costume:
- Long brown hair or a long brown wig
- Midriff-baring shirt (Show some belly button!)
- Tie a collared shirt halfway up your belly
- Tight jeans
- Cowboy boots
5. The Judds
Dressing up as the Judds for Halloween would make a great mother-daughter couples costume!
Like us all, the Judds have definitely gone through their share of fashions and hairstyles throughout the years. My favorite style of theirs is their '80s style, and I think it would also make for the best Halloween costume for recognition reasons.
Naomi Judd's signature style from the '80s usually consisted of a skirt or dress, large belt, and feathered, auburn hair, worn long. Wynonna Judd's signature look from the '80s usually included black pants and black shirt; colorful jewelry; big, feathered blonde hair; and an acoustic guitar.
Some things you will need for your Naomi and Wynonna Judd costume:
- Long, feathered auburn wig for Naomi; and a long, feathered dirty blonde wig for Wynonna
- Dress or a skirt and a large belt for Naomi; black shirt, black pants, and colorful jewelry for Wynonna

maybe it was the the security guard's aplomccice, like the one person leaves the bag in the car, once they see the woman's gone to get help, security guard comes over, and shoves her in the car and drives off. my guess is far fetched, i know, but hey! i liked the pasta though.
