Christmas Gifts for Men
Christmas is a wonderful time of year, but if you’re anything like me, you probably struggle to think of cool Christmas gift ideas—especially for men, as they are often considered hard to buy for. And it’s also not much fun fighting your way around crowded stores and busy shopping malls to try to get them. So here are 10 great gift ideas that are bound to please any man; and, what’s more, you can buy them from the comfort of your own home with just the click of a mouse.
1. Buy Him a Watch
Watches make great Christmas gifts for men (and women too), especially if he hasn't had one for a while. Either digital or analogue is bound to be appreciated, but one that I particularly like is the classy and elegant Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Titanium Watch.
This slim, ultra-light model is a real quality watch that should last for decades. It is powered by both natural and artificial light, so it needs no battery replacements, and it also offers excellent value for money. A beautiful watch with a dark blue dial, it is ideal both as a dress watch and for casual wear. It's also extremely accurate, so you will rarely have to re-set the time, it has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal window, and the glow of the luminous hands and markers lasts all night long, with very little loss of intensity.
2. Or an Electric Shaver
If he’s getting tired of wet shaving, or he hasn't had a new electric shaver for a while, this could be just what he needs. Panasonic makes some great shavers, and the Panasonic Arc4 Electric Shaver with nanotech blades is my personal recommendation, as it gives a smooth, comfortable shave either wet or dry. You can use it in the shower (or over the sink) with your favorite gel or foam for extra skin protection, or use it dry for convenience. The pop-up trimmer is not particularly good, however, but they never are on electric shavers really.
3. Or How About a Pair of Headphones?
Headphones are another excellent Christmas gift idea, and if you want a pair that sound great, feel comfortable, cover the ears well, are really well made and yet affordably priced, you probably won’t do any better than the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Professional Studio Monitor Headphones. They are ideal for use at home as well as when traveling and could be just what he's looking for.
4. Or an iPad
The iPad Pro is unquestionably the best tablet on the market at the time of writing this. It comes in two sizes: the 10.5-inch and the 12.9-inch. Personally, I think the 10.5-inch is the perfect iPad for just about anyone who can afford it (unless he particularly needs the larger 12.9-inch screen).
However, the basic iPad (now sixth generation) is still an excellent tablet, and at that price, probably represents the best value of any tablet currently available. You won't get the laminated screen and fancy camera features of the Pro, and the screen is smaller, but for most people that won't really matter too much. You still get an A10 chip that will allow him to multitask, browse the web, email, read, stream movies and TV and play games with ease.
Then there's the iPad Mini, which is smaller but has greater pixel density (though you won't really notice this with the naked eye). It's also slower than the other iPad's, so unless he really needs the smaller screen, I do not see any point in buying this model.
But whichever model you prefer, an iPad could make the perfect gift for him this Christmas.
5. Or Perhaps a New Smartphone
If his phone needs updating a new smartphone could be just the thing. And the Galaxy S9 Plus is probably the best phone on the market at the moment, though it is a bit large, so won't be suitable if he has small hands. The S9 is also an excellent phone and is a bit smaller, however. Then there's the iPhone X, which is the best iPhone that's ever been made, but it is extremely expensive. So if you are looking for something more affordable you won't go wrong with the Motorola Moto G5, the Moto E5 Plus or the Nokia 6.
6. Or a Pair of Walking Boots
If he’s the outdoor type, a good sturdy pair of weatherproof walking boots could be the ideal gift for him. Like some lightweight Timberland White Ledge Men's Waterproof Boots perhaps? Pair them with a good pair of jeans and a dark jacket, and he’ll have the perfect outfit for the season.
7. Or Maybe a Nice Warm Sweater
Comfortable, warm and practical, a good quality sweater will always make a great gift. And the 100% pure Irish lambswool traditional Aran style sweater by Kerry Woollen Mills would make an excellent choice. This is a real top quality sweater that’s thick and soft, and not at all restrictive at the neck like many sweaters are. It’s perfect for both indoor and outdoor wear, and it represents excellent value for the price.
8. Or a Flight Jacket
A warm but stylish real leather flight bomber jacket, like the Men's Air Force A-2 Leather Flight Bomber Jacket from Landing Leathers perhaps, is perfect for when he wants to get out and about during the colder winter months.
This particular jacket is made from soft but durable leather with a polyester/cotton lining imprinted with the WW2 US flag (with 48 stars, as there were only 48 states at the time of WW2). It goes on smoothly, fits comfortably, and has elasticated wrists and waist to fit snugly and prevent cold air blowing up the sleeves and body. It's a real quality jacket, and great value for the price.

9. Or Perhaps a Toiletry Bag
Ideal for carrying his shampoo, shower gel, shaving cream, toothbrush, etc. when traveling, a toiletry bag makes a nice practical but personal gift. And the Vitelli Leather Toiletry Bag, which is made from PU leather, is a great quality bag that is both spacious and stylish. It looks good, feels good, has a handy zipper compartment at the bottom, and comes with two 2oz silicone travel bottles.
10. Or a Pair of Boxer Briefs (or Two)
Every man needs these, so you can’t go wrong with a pair or two of stylish and comfortable boxer briefs. Personally, I don’t like the loose-fitting styles (although many men do), but something like the cotton stretch or cotton classic boxers by Calvin Klein could be just right, as these are top quality, feel great and don't lose their shape over time like a lot of brands do.
So those are my top 10 Christmas gift ideas for the men in your life. There are lots of others of course, but I hope you found these useful and that they will help to point you in the right direction. Have a superb Christmas.

It is, but only based on research. I haven't got one as yet. But yes it is a great discount isn't it?

Quite a nice model you've got there too, $150 off!
Is that your personal choice?
David (author) from Birmingham, UK on November 24, 2013:
Lol; thanks Jake. Yes I could use a new watch myself :)

Very good, would love the wife to stumble across this. To be honest wouldn't mind any of these gifts this december - but if I had to choose between the boxers and the silver watch, well let's say that I'd never be late again.
