Easy DIY Punny Birthday and Greeting Card Ideas
I am a writer with special expertise in textiles, fabrics, printing, and dyeing.
Love to make your own greeting cards? Only have a few minutes to come up with one? Well, this article is for you. I am going to share with you five greeting card ideas that you can easily create in just a few minutes with a few simple supplies. The best part is that the people you give them to will feel special since you made them a custom card. A handmade card with a pun is sure to put a smile on the recipient's face. After all, who doesn't love a good pun!
Let's get started! I'll show you how I made these cards and how you can make your own and customize them.
A Toast to Your Birthday Card
This card features hand-drawn piece of toast and a pun.
Supplies
The things you will need for the greeting card are as follows. You can, of course, make changes based on what you have available.
- Colored markers
- Double-sided tape (or glue)
- Black sketch pen/marker (other colors will also work)
- White cardstock (for the base)
Instructions
- Start by taking an A4-size piece white cardstock and folding it in half to make a base for your greeting card.
- Take another piece of white cardstock and draw the outline of a piece of toast. You can use a Google search to a suitable image of the toast.
- Fill the outline with your favorite colors.
- Cut out the toast drawing from the white cardstock.
- Using a piece of the double-sided tape, stick the cutout on the greeting card base and write your message. I went with "A Toast To Your Birthday!"
Tip: You can also make the toast using different colored sheets of paper. You can also make the drawing directly on the base cardstock; I just wanted a more elevated look for the toast, so I went with the double-sided tape.
