Love Is in the Air: Quotes About Love

Updated on October 4, 2017

Love is a much talked about subject, and rightfully so. After all, love provides us with the protection of parents, the companionship of friends, and the devotion of romantic partners. It’s also a gift we can offer ourselves. Regardless how you think about love, it’s obvious people have been thinking about it and talking about it for ages. Below are a collection of quotes about this vital life force which most of us want more of. Enjoy!

C.S. Lewis: “To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket—safe, dark, motionless, airless—it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

“Love is our essential nutrient. Without it, life has little meaning. It’s the best thing we have to give and the most valuable thing we receive. It’s worthy of all the hullabaloo.” Cheryl Strayed

C.S. Lewis: “Affection is responsible for nine-tenths of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives.”

Anna Louise Strong: “To fall in love is easy, even to remain in it is not difficult; our human loneliness is cause enough. But it is a hard quest worth making to find a comrade through whose steady presence one becomes steadily the person one desires to be.”

Fyodor Dostoyevsky: “Only the heart knows how to find what is precious.”

Love is eternal source of mankind. None can survive without its existence. It is the love that brings happiness. It is the love that takes care of each other. It is the love that bonds one another in the family, the community, the society and the country. Love is all and pervasive. Love encompasses the humanity, It is the love that covers nature, the wild animals, the pets, the fishes in the ponds, the lakes, the rivers, and the oceans. Without love none can exist in the world.
