These three Valentine's Day cards are easy to make at home with just a few basic materials.

Every year, we celebrate love on Valentine's Day. These easy greeting cards are so simple that they can actually be made any time of the year to show your spouse, partner, or crush how much you appreciate them. The best part is that they don't require any expensive materials, and they can be made in just a few minutes. Let's get started!

Game of Hearts Greeting Card

Game of Hearts Greeting Card

1. Game of Hearts Greeting Card

This cute card features a game of tic-tac-toe in which hearts beat Xs along with the line, "You Won My Heart!"

Materials Needed

  • Red craft paper
  • Glue (any kind)
  • Black sketch pen/marker (any other color will also do)
  • Red sketch pen/marker (any other color will also do)
  • White A4 cardstock (for the base)

Tips

  • Use double-sided tape for a 3D effect.
  • Experiment with different colors of scrapbook paper to customize your design.

Instructions

  1. Fold the white cardstock in half. This will become the base of the greeting card.
  2. Cut your white cardstock to make mini cards as well. Choose multiple colors for the base to customize it (optional).
  3. Take the red craft paper and fold it multiple times. Draw the shape of the heart and cut it out to ensure a uniform design of the heart.
  4. You could also draw a stencil of the heart and cut out the shapes. The stencil can be used for future projects as well. You can also use a heart design punch to cut out multiple hearts at once. This can save time, and the resulting hearts will be uniform. If you don’t want to cut out hearts, you can simply use a marker to draw them (optional).
  5. Make a 3x3 table using the marker on the white cardstock and place the crosses anywhere. Now place the cut-out hearts diagonally (or however you like) across the matrix.
  6. Take your red marker and write your favorite message in your favorite font. I went with "You Won My Love!" You can also add additional text to the card if you like.
  7. Your card is now complete and ready to be handed over to that special someone!

2. We Fit Perfectly Greeting Card

This adorable card features a heart made out of interlocking puzzle pieces along with the phrase, "We Fit Perfectly!"

Materials Needed

  • Red and pink craft paper
  • Double-sided tape
  • Black sketch pen/marker (any other color will also do)
  • White A4 Cardstock (for the base)
  • Downloadable image of puzzle heart above (optional)

Instructions

  1. Fold the white cardstock in half. This will become the base of the greeting card. Other colors can also be used.
  2. Cut out the sheets of paper to look like jigsaw puzzle pieces in the shape of a heart. Alternatively, print and color the downloadable heart template above.
  3. Using double-sided tape, stick the jigsaw puzzle on the cardstock.
  4. Write your message in your favorite font with the marker. I went ahead with "We fit perfectly together!"
  5. Your card is now complete and ready to dazzle.

3. Heart Party Greeting Card

This Valentine's Day card features a string of hanging hearts accompanied by the phrase, "I Love to Hang With You!"

Materials Needed

  • String (any color)
  • Red craft paper
  • Glue (any kind)
  • Black sketch pen/marker (any other color will also do)
  • White A4 Cardstock (for the base)

Tip: You can also use a ribbon instead of a string

Instructions

  1. Fold the white cardstock in half. This will become the base of the greeting card. Other colors can also be used.
  2. Cut small hearts from the red craft paper. You can also use different colors to make a colorful confetti string. Alternatively, you can use a mini heart design punch to cut out multiple hearts at once and save time.
  3. Cut the string to the desired length. Stick it across the folded cardstock, and stick the cut hearts on the string, making it look as if they are hanging from it.
  4. Using the black marker, write your desired message. I went ahead with "I Love to Hang With You!"
  5. Your card is now complete. Fill it in with additional messages inside and give it to your Valentine!
