SpiderBytes is a big fan of Halloween, horror, and all things spooky.
1. Carrie White
High school can be rough on anyone, but for young Carrie White, it literally turned out to be murder—mass murder, in fact. Her story has been told more than once, but the basic facts remain the same. Bullied at school, abused at home, and jacked up with psychic powers no one had foreseen, Carrie makes a stand for those who have had to endure ridicule, torment, and agony at the hands of others. So what if a few good guys got burned along the way, so long as the bad guys all got it in the end?
"It has nothing to do with Satan, Mama. It's me." —Carrie White
2. Morticia Addams
Morticia Addams is perhaps the most wickedly humorous TV mom of all time. Definitely not your average homemaker, Morticia was always there for her family and their macabre needs. Always dressed in a slinky black evening gown, this lady was a real head turner—usually all the way around! Goth before being goth was trendy, Morticia was not only a horrific homemaker but quite the gardener as well, with a black thumb to be envied by all. Her long stem roses were always a beauty to behold once she clipped off those dreadful blooms that were always such an annoyance! Gomez sure was a lucky fellow!
"Last night you were unhinged. You were like some desperate, howling demon. You frightened me. Do it again!" —Morticia Addams
3. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
Undoubtedly the Hostess with the Mostest, Elvira would often outshine the stars of the cheesy horror flicks she presented on KHJ's Movie Macabre show. The horror hostess made her debut in 1981 and went on to star in a couple of B-movies of her own, as well as numerous fantasies in the developing minds of many a young boy. In her tight black Gothic gown with her jet black beehive hairdo, Elvira was as striking as she was titillating. You can bet there were very few "unpleasant dreams" featuring the Mistress of the Dark!
"There's nothing wrong with G-rated movies, as long as there's lots of sex and violence." —Elvira
4. Baby Firefly
If you dig chicks with guns, then Baby Firefly is the girl for you. But be careful... this one can be quite the tease! And what you get in the end may be a bit more than you bargained for, her murderous inclinations being what they are. But oh, what a beautiful way to go!
Vera-Ellen "Baby Firefly" Wilson was born September 12, 1948, to Eve Wilson (better known as Mother Firefly) and Johnny Lee Johns (more commonly called Captain Spaulding). She was raised in Ruggsville County, living a life filled with mayhem and murder. Unfortunately, due primarily to the intolerance and treachery of Sheriff John Wydell, who had no understanding or compassion for the Firefly's unorthodox way of life, Baby was taken from us on May 21, 1978. Her life was celebrated in the Rob Zombie films House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects.
"Whatever you need to do, you do it. There is no wrong. If someone needs to be killed, you kill them. That's the way." —Baby Firefly
"These are all my dolls. I used to like to chop their heads off and their arms and stick 'em up on the wall." —Baby Firefly
5. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
If you are out on a spooky Halloween night, there is no lady better to have by your side than Buffy Summers. Not only is she gorgeous, but she can handle any creatures of the night who might come along. Sure, technically, she is a vampire slayer, but do you really think zombies, werewolves, ghouls or young kids armed with a dozen rotten eggs would be any match for her amazing powers?
"I can't believe I'm in a graveyard with a strange man hunting for vampires on a school night. " —Buffy Summers
6. Angelique Bouchard
From the world of Dark Shadows, Angelique Bouchard brought a refreshing sophistication often missing from the world of evil ladies. She had style. She had grace. She had magical skills that could charm you or kill you. And she was pretty ruthless. She wanted things her way, and there was never any compromise. Of course, if you resisted, she always had the power to change your mind. Angelique was in love with Barnabas Collins, but the silly vampire had this thing for Josette DuPres. What a silly, silly boy!
"Look into my eyes. Deep into my eyes. You have no will of your own. You cannot resist me. . ." —Angelique Bouchard
Vampirella is from Drakulon, which may be another planet or a part of Hell, depending on who you ask. Either way, Vampirella was sent to us to slay evil vampires. She has many vampire powers herself, including a hypnotizing stare, superhuman strength and the ability to suck blood. But she does not suffer most of the usual vampire weaknesses, such as an intolerance of sunlight or an aversion to religious items such as crosses or holy water. She can suck you all day long without turning you into a vampire and enjoys garlic toast with her pasta. All in all, exactly the kind of girl you would be proud to take home to meet your mother.
"Your blood will tell us all we need." —Vampirella
8. Samantha Stevens
Without a doubt, Samantha Stevens was the cutest witch to ever twitch her nose at a warlock. Or at a human, for that matter. Hubby Darren certainly fell under her bewitching spell, as did millions of television viewers. And the magic has never stopped with Samantha first returning to us in reruns via Nick at Night and now coming to us in glorious digital perfection on DVD.
And if you don't think Sam was one of a kind, consider this...when they made the Bewitched movie, all the other witches and warlocks were there -- Endora, Uncle Arthur, Aunt Clara... Heck! Even Abner and Gladys Kravitz were there. But there was no Samantha. Some magic just cannot be duplicated.
"I'm not a bad witch! I'm a good witch!" —Samantha Stevens
