Chitrangada Sharan from New Delhi, India on January 02, 2020:

Great subject for an article and very well written. I liked your quotes and other interesting information about the month of February.

February is a month of colourful blossoms in India. It’s a visual delight to see the gardens, with lovely flowers all around. This is one of the reasons, I love this month.

Another reason is personal. My father’s birthday, my twins birthday and I met my husband, for the first time, in this month only.

Though I liked all the quotes, the no. 2 is significant.

Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year to you.

Linda Crampton from British Columbia, Canada on January 01, 2020:

You've shared some interesting, serious, and amusing quotes, Dora. It's a great mixture! I like February because the signs of the approaching spring become stronger where I live. I enjoy the anticipation.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on January 01, 2020:

Susan, I pray that the joyful memory you experienced that February will override any feeling of sadness that comes after. Still, as you suggest, it might be possible to find something positive in every month. Hoping that will be true for you in the New Year.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on January 01, 2020:

Beautiful, Manatita. That's why you still carry the lantern. Well done!

Susan from Dover Delaware on January 01, 2020:

February is a wonderful month, that gave me the love of my live. My deceased son. Most people born is February have wonderful qualities and Rick had the best. March hasn't been terrible good to me however, I lost my father and my beautiful son in March. But perhaps everyone has their month, that scarred them beyond belief, or made them happier then they ever imagined.

manatita44 from london on January 01, 2020:

"She felt the energy of an unknown star,

As the spark of Spirit entered into her embryo.

A song-bird of the soul cried with Joy,

Entering the arena of new life."

It was February 10th, 1952, a bright Sunday morning.

The virgin dawn kissed her Soul, in more ways than one,

As sweet seventeen, heralded the advent of her first … her newborn child." - A spontaneous piece for you.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on January 01, 2020:

Manatita, you're right. We have time to pray ahead for a good February. Number 11 sounds like something you would write, though you may use more flowery words. Would love to hear about the light born in this said month.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on January 01, 2020:

Thanks, Liz. Happy that February has some pleasant significance for you. Enjoy it as much as you can until March comes.

manatita44 from london on January 01, 2020:

Well Dee, some of your February quotes are as chilling as the weather itself, especially 21. Don't you know that a Light was born in February?

I like number 11. A romantic touch, no? I guess that's why you chose it, eh? Feb 10th would definitely have been better.

Ok, its a grey and usually miserable month for me, weather-wise, as it's very cold and showery. You jumped ahead, so time enough to pray for good things

Liz Westwood from UK on January 01, 2020:

This is an interesting set of quotes. I like February because we celebrate Valentine's day and also a family birthday. After that, spring doesn't seem far away and the days get a little longer.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on January 01, 2020:

John, thanks for commenting. I'm smiling and thinking that just like some people, February may not be popular, but it does have some special features. Have a Happy New Year.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on January 01, 2020:

Brenda, Happy New Year to you, too. Pleased that you enjoy the quotes. Sure, February is a step towards spring.

John Hansen from Australia (Gondwana Land) on January 01, 2020:

These quotes were both interesting and entertaining. It seems that poor February is not a popular month at all apart from Valentine's Day. This is quite a unique idea for a series..the months. Thank you for sharing this MrDora.

BRENDA ARLEDGE from Washington Court House on December 31, 2019:

Ms Dora,

These quotes are great.

I love the one about it being the month of love...that's why it's so short. Plus if you are miserable schedule it for Feb.

I did enjoy them all.

But once February is over...then comes spring.

Happy New Year!

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on December 31, 2019:

Blessings to you as we begin a New Year.

FlourishAnyway from USA on December 31, 2019:

Sadly, the quote about February being the month for dying is appropriate for my family. We have a history of tragic deaths that go back many, many decades. They occur in February. #21 is a great quote because it captures the hopelessness of deep depression and inability to see that the pain will subside if you just wait it out, just like the dreary days of February.

Kari Poulsen from Ohio on December 31, 2019:

I love the quote by Katherine Paterson in "The Shortest Month" portion. I had to laugh at the Lemony Snickett quote. I really enjoyed these quotes, thanks Dora. Have a Happy New Years. I hope it brings you blessings and love.

Linda Lum from Washington State, USA on December 31, 2019:

What a sweet article. I did not remember that we are looking to another Leap Year (didn't we do that just 4 years ago?). February is my birth month. I love the flowers and any month that celebrates chocolate is a good one in my book.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on December 31, 2019:

Sure, Devika. Your Valentine's Day marriage is special so February is certainly a good month for you. Enjoy your celebration every year.

Lucy from Leeds, UK on December 31, 2019:

What a quirky article - these are some beautiful and amusing quotes. I always find that February is a surreal month; the weather is terrible here, in the UK, but the days grow brighter and the flora and fauna comes to live as Spring looms on the horizon!
