Our spirits feel lifted as we begin to think of year-end festivities.

Denise,I'm with you. Fall is my favorite season. Sorry about the Creek fire. In a little while, the cool breezes and the "whiff of wood smoke" will relieve you.

Denise McGill from Fresno CA on September 12, 2020:

I think the fall and October are my favorite season, even more than Spring. I love it when the air finally cools and it breathable again after a long and stifling Summer. I love that whiff of wood smoke... not this horrible all-encompassing smoke from the Creek fire that is surrounding me now. I long for the cooling breezes to finally blow.

Wonderful quotes about the month of October. I liked all of them and the beautiful pictures of flowers.

The month is significant to me and the other Indians, because of the many festivals it brings along. Some of my close family and friend’s birthdays and anniversaries also fall in this month.

October month is about me sitting outside and basking in the sun. The best time to feel warmth but the day is much shorter and I love this time of year. Your write up for October is cheerful and with precaution.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on September 08, 2020:

Thanks, Linda. The variety of scents in that first quote, plus the imagery as you mentioned is appealing. Good choice!

Ambrie Anders on September 07, 2020:

I like no 24 about not wasting October sunshine. I like when the sunshine dries out the fallen autumn leaves - so that when I stamp hard on them they make a sharp crisp noise.

I can’t stop myself from meandering down the street crunching all the largest dry crisp leave underfoot. It’s a sound like no other. Thanks for this reminder of soon coming free simple pleasures on dry autumn days. Can’t wait.

Tim, thanks for sharing. The Happiest Wedding Anniversary to you and your dear wife this coming October! And the Happiest Birthday Celebration to your daughter! Enjoy your special month in your specially selected place.

Tim Truzy from U.S.A. on September 07, 2020:

Hello, Ms. Dora. October is very special to me--it's when my wife and I were married. My daughter's birthday is Halloween. We live less than two hours from the Appalachian Mountains, and we love to visit there in Oct. But I think of Oct. as the beginning of the holiday season, when man, beast, and the world cool their tempers and remember we made it through with the help of God. Some of us remember that all year, of course, but others require days like Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Year Day to recall. Beautiful work as always. Peace be with you, dear soul.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on September 07, 2020:

Eric, you are welcome as many times as you want to visit. Enjoy the quotes, my friend.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on September 07, 2020:

I came by 3 times just to let some soak in. I love October.

Shauna L Bowling from Central Florida on September 07, 2020:

Dora, like you I live in a tropical climate so we don't experience the four seasons as much of the world does. However, I've lived in states that do and miss it. Except for winter. I can do without the snow and frigid temperatures.

This piece brings the seasons back to mind. My sister was born in Philadelphia in October. Now my parents and siblings live in Florida, as do I. It's nice to be reminded of Fall giving birth to Winter, but I prefer the memory to the experience! LOL

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on September 07, 2020:

Drew Agravante from Philippines, Currently in Qatar on September 07, 2020:

Here comes October. A month will come and pass by again. One thing I appreciate about October is the upcoming cool season. Since I'm currently in Qatar, October marks a gradual shift temperature. From the incredibly hot and humid season, into nice and cool weather. Thanks for the awesome article.

Liz Westwood from UK on September 07, 2020:

It's good to read some positive and upbeat comments about October. It makes us appreciate the Autumn a little more. The colours of Autumn leaves can be very beautiful at this time.

Dear Mary, I'm happy that you get to enjoy the cottage and the lake. May the memories influence your joy even when you're not there. Best to you and family, going forward!

Mary Norton from Ontario, Canada on September 07, 2020:

We love October as the colors change around us here in the cottage and we look at the carpet of colors across the lake. We also celebrate early in October our Thanksgiving here in Canada so it gives us many beautiful memories. Except that there is always a tinge of sadness as we close the cottage and won't see it until next summer. It's winterized but we just have not gone here as a family.

Dora Weithers (author) from The Caribbean on September 07, 2020:

Thanks, Pam. I'm happy that you enjoyed the quotes. They help make it easy to like October.

You assembled a lovely collection of quotes about the month of October. Enjoy this month of September, and the days to come.

James C Moore from The Great Midwest on September 07, 2020:

I like quote #27. It is good to be in a world that has Octobers. It is the end of year transitioning month. Summer's not far removed, Autumn is at its peak and winter is not far behind.
